Calderara, Feudo di Mezzo, Arcurìa, Allegracore, Millecucchita, Pietra Marina, Verzella, Barbabecchi. It is here, in these Etna contrade, that our finest wines are born.

On Etna every plot has a unique identity.
Ancient places that give life to extraordinary wines.
Our daily work is to respect and place at the center the nature of these lands.
The production philosophy that distinguishes Restivo Wine is focused on enhancing the identity of each individual Cru and its bond with the contrada from which it comes.

Millecucchita
The etymology of the name refers to the historical presence of the “Minicucco” (hackberry tree). The estate extends over 26 hectares, of which 4.2 are currently planted with Carricante; in 2026 the vineyard will reach around 14 hectares with new plantings of Carricante, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Located between 580 and 600 meters on the northern slope, it features a “Hawaiian” lava morphology originating from Monte Dolce: pahoehoe lava and pressure ridges that ensure perfect drainage. The soil, rich in basaltic minerals, gives the wines extreme mineral finesse and rare longevity. Agronomic management respects the delicate soil structure and the biodiversity of the small lava caves present.
Arcurìa
It is the beating heart and the operational center of Restivo Wine. The property comprises 19 hectares, with 10.3 hectares of vineyards where Nerello Mascalese, Nerello Cappuccio, Carricante and Catarratto coexist. The vineyard lies on an ancient and friable lava flow between 620 and 670 meters. Arcurìa is a living rural mosaic: a true “village among the vineyards” where vine rows, olive trees, almond trees and the estate resort coexist in harmony. It is a site of excellence that guarantees optimal ripeness in cooler vintages and maintains a vibrant acidic tension in the warmest summers.
Allegracore
A true “Clos” of 4 hectares, of which 3.6 are planted equally with Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, destined for sparkling wine base wines. Located at 700 meters near the Alcantara River, the estate is entirely enclosed by dry‑stone walls and dominated by a century‑old oak tree. In continuity with tradition, management of the grass cover is entrusted to horses. The soil, rocky yet balanced, and the trellis training system make this contrada a vineyard garden of rare agronomic precision.
Calderara
The name evokes the heat retained by the black volcanic stones, capable of mitigating nighttime temperature variations. This 0.5‑hectare parcel of Nerello Mascalese is a terraced Clos at 700 meters above sea level, characterized by an extreme soil: a mix of black pumice and large basalt pebbles. Here every intervention is strictly manual. The landscape is enriched by century‑old olive trees and an ancient palmento, a testament to a millennia‑old winemaking vocation.
Barbabecchi
Located between 900 and 1,100 meters, it is one of the highest and most iconic areas of Etna Nord. Restivo Wine cultivates here 0.5 hectares of old vines (50–70 years) of Nerello Mascalese. The soil is a precious deposit of fresh basalt and brown earth, rich in iron and nitrogen, which requires entirely manual work due to the slope and the nature of the soil. Surrounded by chestnut and walnut trees, the contrada takes its name from the “Barbabecco”, the characteristic yellow flower that dots the rows in spring.
Pietramarina
(Tenuta Madonnina) At about 550 meters above sea level, this 3‑hectare estate is influenced by the Alcantara River. The terroir is an original arenaceous–volcanic mix that produces slender wines, with an elegant structure and tense acidity, making it the ideal cradle for the rosé. Here too, the vineyard is conceived as a terraced Clos, with a rural dwelling at the center and a training system that alternates bush vines and trellis in a landscape of olive trees and light soils.
Feudo di Mezzo
One hectare of rare beauty, composed of about ten terraces where old vines (90%) grow, some of which are ungrafted. Located in a ventilated valley floor, the vineyard benefits from a deep soil that gives the grapes complete and harmonious ripening. The resulting wines are renowned for their softness and silky finesse, which in elegance and persistence recall the great profiles of Burgundy.
Verzella
Currently a strategic reserve of the estate, Contrada Verzella is not yet planted. It represents the future of Restivo Wine: an area with very high qualitative potential that will, in the coming years, make it possible to complete the extraordinary mosaic of volcanic expressions that the winery aims to offer.
