Contrada Barbabecchi<\/h2>\n

Here, Restivo Wine tends 0.7 hectares<\/strong> of historic Nerello Mascalese<\/strong> vineyards, with vines aged 50 to 70 years<\/strong>, set within a landscape of terraces<\/strong>, lava stone walls<\/strong> and steep slopes<\/strong> that make every vineyard operation necessarily manual.<\/p>\n

The soil, composed of fresh basalt<\/strong> and brown earth<\/strong>, is rich in mineral components and immediately reveals the volcanic origin of the site, while the natural setting, among chestnut groves<\/strong> and walnut trees<\/strong>, preserves a rare and distinctive balance.<\/p>\n

Over the years, vineyard management has required careful agronomic restoration<\/strong>, including the replacement of missing vines<\/strong>, to re-establish continuity, vegetative balance and vineyard integrity without altering its original heritage. It is a patient task of stewardship<\/strong> even before cultivation, restoring value to a historic vineyard in a true context of heroic viticulture<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The contrada is nestled within the Etna Park<\/strong> and maintains an unspoiled, quiet character deeply connected to the volcano\u2019s most ancient dimension.<\/p>\n

Although located beyond the Etna denomination at the highest elevations, Barbabecchi perhaps embodies its oldest and most radical soul: that of a borderland viticulture<\/strong>, born from the direct relationship between man, lava, altitude and time.
